Personal Checking Accounts

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal Law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record all information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask you for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. View Customer Identification Worksheet Exhibit "Y" here.

Texas Estate Code 113.052

This is a new law applicable to consumer accounts opened or modified on or after the effective date of September 1, 2015. The type of account you select may determine how property passes on your death. Your Will may not control the disposition of funds held in some types of accounts. You will be required to select one of the account types listed on pages 6-8 at the account opening or modification process. View the Texas Estates Code 113.052 here.
